1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to PDF Scanner & Editor and its related services, features and settings. References to “we,” “our” or “us” mean the developer and operator of the app.
PDF Scanner & Editor is a document scanning and PDF utility that lets you scan pages, create PDF files, sign documents, merge files, reorder pages, delete pages, view recent files and change language or theme settings.
2. Accounts and user content
The app does not require registration, login, a subscription or an account for core use. We do not ask you to create a profile or send us your name, email address, phone number or payment details to use the app.
Scanned pages, PDF files, signatures, thumbnails, page order, history entries and local settings are processed and stored on your device. We do not upload your document files to our servers for normal use of the app.
Document scanning uses the camera and Google Play services document-scanner flow on supported devices. The scanned images and PDF output are returned to the app for local processing and saving.
3. App data and permissions
Camera permission
- Used only when you choose to scan a document or capture a page.
- Used for document capture, edge detection and PDF creation.
- The app does not use the camera to record video or take photos outside the scanning flow.
Storage permission
- On older Android versions, storage access may be needed to save PDFs to Downloads/PDF Scanner.
- Generated files are saved locally on your device unless you choose another share or export destination.
Local app data
- Language, theme and other preferences stay on the device.
- Recent-file history and document metadata are stored locally to power the History tab.
- Signature images, thumbnails and temporary working files may be stored in app storage or cache to support editing workflows.
Sharing
- When you share or export a PDF, Android sends the file to the app or destination you choose.
- That destination processes the file under its own privacy policy.
4. Advertising and analytics
The app may become advertising-supported in future releases. When advertising or analytics services are enabled, the app may display banner, native, interstitial, app-open or rewarded ads.
Depending on version, region and consent choices, the following providers may receive data through their SDKs or service integrations when those services are enabled:

5. How data is used

7. Data retention
Local preferences, history entries and generated files remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data or uninstall the app. Temporary working files and cache may remain until the system or the app clears them.
Third-party providers retain advertising, analytics, attribution and diagnostics data under their own policies, legal obligations and account settings. Retention varies by provider and data type.
8. Your choices and rights
- Deny or revoke camera permission in Android settings if you do not want to scan documents.
- Allow or revoke storage access on older Android versions if needed to save PDFs locally.
- Change language, theme and other settings inside the app.
- Clear the app's local data or uninstall the app to remove local files and history from the device.
- Manage ad personalization, reset the advertising identifier or use device-level ad controls if future ad-supported versions are enabled.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection or withdrawal of consent. Contact us to submit a request.
9. Children's privacy
The app is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
10. International processing
Advertising, analytics, attribution and technical providers may operate in multiple countries. Their processing may transfer data across borders under applicable contractual or legal safeguards.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when app features, legal requirements or service providers change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate in-app, website or store notice.
